Rasuwagadhi: Goods worth more than Rs 40 billion have been imported so far in the current fiscal year from the Rasuwagadhi customs point, a major trade corridor between Nepal and China. Acting Chief of Rasuwa Customs Office, Bharat Singh BK, revealed that the total goods imported from China to Nepal through this customs point reached Rs 40.1 billion during this fiscal year.

According to National News Agency Nepal, BK added that the imports primarily consisted of readymade garments, shoes and sandals, electronic goods, apples, garlic, ginger, machinery for hydropower projects, and electric vehicles. In contrast, Nepal exported goods worth Rs 900 million to China through the same route. The revenue collected from these exports and imports amounted to Rs 10.8 billion.

Acting Chief BK also addressed concerns related to the import of electric vehicles from this customs point. He highlighted that the current Customs Act and Regulations permit importers to deposit revenue in advance. This procedure ensures that there is no financial loss for the state, as revenue collection adheres to the stipulated guidelines.
