Colombo: Due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance near Sri Lanka, the island is expected to experience continued showery conditions over the next few days. Showers or thundershowers are anticipated to occur in most parts of the island after 1.00 pm.
According to News.LK, heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely in certain areas, including the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-western, and North-central provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, and Mannar. Additionally, showers are expected in the Western, Southern, and Northern provinces during the morning hours.
Misty conditions are predicted in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces and in the Kurunegala district during the early morning. The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
