Indian Vice President Concludes Official Visit to Sri Lanka


Colombo: The Vice President of India, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, concluded his two-day official visit to Sri Lanka and departed for India this afternoon. His departure from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake marked the end of a visit that included several significant engagements and discussions.



According to News.LK, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan’s visit commenced on the 19th, during which he engaged in bilateral talks with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya. His agenda also included meeting with members of the Indian community in Sri Lanka. He visited the Kathiresan Kovil in Bambalapitiya and the Gangaramaya Temple in Hunupitiya, where he participated in religious observances.



On the second day, the Vice President toured housing projects in the Nuwara Eliya district that were implemented with Indian assistance. He also met with members of the Malayagam community. The visit concluded with religious observances at the Seetha Amman Kovil in Nuwara Eliya. The farewell at the airport was attended by Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Dr. Anura Karunathilaka and the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Mr. Santosh Jha.
