Rantambe: The Passing out Parade of the Hermann Loos and De Soysa Challenge Trophies 2024 was held at the NCC Training Centre, Rantambe, on Sunday, Nov 10. The event was graced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage as the Chief Guest, Army media says.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the Director of NCC, Brigadier Sudantha Fonseka, welcomed the Chief Guest at the entrance and accorded him a Guard Turnout. Subsequently, the Army Commander awarded medals and certificates to the achievers.

Army media reports, Cadets of Ananda College, Colombo 10, won the first place in the Male category and received the Hermann Loos Trophy for the Best Platoon in the Island for the year 2024. Meanwhile, Maliyadeva Girls’ College, Kurunegala, won the De Soyza Trophy for the Best Platoon in the Female category.

Officers, officials from the Ministry of Education, Principals, teachers, parents, cadets and a large group of civilians were also present at the ceremony.
