Prague: Sri Lanka participated in the 33rd Holiday World and Region World International Tourism Exhibition 2025, held at the PVA EXPO in Prague, Czech Republic, from March 14 to 16, 2025. The event was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Sri Lanka, the exhibition is the largest tourism event in the Czech Republic, organized under the auspices of the Czech Tourism Board and the Ministry of Regional Development. It serves as a platform for global tourism professionals and service providers to promote tourism and enhance cooperation among international tourism bodies. The event also featured tourist experiences from various Czech regions and offered global travel deals through participating agencies.
The SLTPB, with the support of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Vienna, regularly takes part in this exhibition. This year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Stand was inaugurated by Ambassador M.R.K. Lena
gala, who is accredited to the Czech Republic. During the opening, he highlighted the dedication of Sri Lankan travel and tour representatives in promoting the country to European travelers and expressed optimism about reaching the target of 3 million tourists for the year.
Fourteen prominent Sri Lankan tour operators were present at the exhibition, including Brians Holidays Sri Lanka, Serene Vacations Lanka, Nomadic Ventures Sri Lanka, Delux Holidays (PVT) LTD, Trips4u.com Travel and Tours, and several others. Their participation was facilitated by the SLTPB to showcase Sri Lanka’s tourism opportunities.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Stand offered traditional Sri Lankan cuisines and Ceylon Tea to visitors. Additionally, promotional videos were displayed continuously to encourage attendees to explore Sri Lanka’s attractions.
