Prague: The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), coordinated Sri Lanka’s representation at the 33rd Holiday World and Region World International Tourism Exhibition 2025, recently held at the PVA EXPO in Prague, Czech Republic.
According to News.LK, the Holiday World and Region World is the largest tourism exhibition in the Czech Republic, organized under the auspices of the Czech Tourism Board and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic. This exhibition served as a significant platform for global tourism professionals and service providers to enhance tourism promotion and foster cooperation among international tourism bodies. The event also highlighted tourist experiences within various Czech regions, with travel agencies offering global trip packages.
The SLTPB, supported by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna, participates annually in the Holiday World and Region World exhibition. This year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Stand was
inaugurated by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka accredited to the Czech Republic, M.R.K. Lenagala, who is based in Vienna. The opening ceremony featured the traditional lighting of an oil lamp, and Ambassador Lenagala acknowledged the Sri Lankan travel and tour sectors’ contributions to promoting Sri Lanka to European travelers. He expressed optimism that this participation would aid in reaching Sri Lanka’s tourism target of 3 million visitors this year.
Fourteen prominent Sri Lankan tour operators, including Brians Holidays Sri Lanka, Serene Vacations Lanka, Nomadic Ventures Sri Lanka, Delux Holidays (PVT) LTD, and several others, took part in the exhibition with SLTPB’s assistance. The Sri Lanka Tourism Stand offered guests a taste of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and Ceylon Tea, while continuously screening promotional videos to entice visitors to explore Sri Lanka.
