7 ASPs, 49 Inspectors Sent into Mandatory Retirement from Bangladesh Police


Dhaka: The government has enforced mandatory retirement for seven assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) and 49 inspectors from public service. This significant decision was revealed through two separate notifications issued by the Police-1 and Police-2 branches of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the notifications were signed by Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. These documents stated that the 56 officers, who were part of the Bangladesh Police, had each completed 25 years of service. The officers were retired in the public interest, as stipulated under Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018.
