Colombo: In line with the International Women’s Day commemorations, the Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence organised a programme to distribute dry ration packs to women employees of the Ministry.
According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the event was held at the Ministry premises this morning. During the brief ceremony, the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, symbolically presented dry ration packs to several women staff members representing the Ministry workforce.
The initiative was organised as a gesture of appreciation to recognise the dedication and valuable contributions of women serving at the Ministry of Defence. The programme also formed part of the Ministry’s activities to mark International Women’s Day, which celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world.
