Sri lanka: Sri Lanka is set to host the internationally recognised ‘Walk for Peace’ pilgrimage from April 21 to 28, 2026, led by the Most Venerable Paññakara Thera along with a delegation of twelve Buddhist monks.

According to News.LK, the seven-day spiritual journey will span across several sacred sites, beginning in Anuradhapura and concluding in Colombo. The pilgrimage will carry a sacred sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi along with revered relics, symbolising peace and unity.

The programme is being conducted with the support of the Government’s Clean Sri Lanka initiative. The event will culminate in a State Ceremony and a cultural exhibition in Colombo, where Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage and traditional crafts will be showcased to both local and international audiences.
