Colombo: A suspect has been arrested within the Pettah Police Division for allegedly causing damage to property at the recently renovated and reopened Pettah Central Bus Stand.

According to News.LK, the investigation was initiated by the Pettah Police after receiving a complaint from the welfare division of the bus stand. On April 11, 2026, officers apprehended a suspect in the Kolonnawa area and recovered a portion of the stolen property related to the incident.

The arrested individual is identified as a 33-year-old resident of Kolonnawa. The Sri Lanka Air Force is anticipated to provide an assessment report on the damages caused to the bus stand. The suspect is set to appear before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
