Dhaka: The proposed new pay scale for government employees is at the final stage and could be announced at any time, according to Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar. Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, Sattar explained that the government remains committed to implementing the new pay scale, emphasizing its readiness for an imminent announcement.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Sattar highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to tackle existing problems in the market. Responding to a question, he pointed out disruptions in the production chain, potentially linked to fuel and electricity issues, and assured that measures are being taken to resolve these concerns.

In a related development, discussions about the phased introduction of the new pay scale from July 1 were also brought up by Khosru, signaling the government’s proactive stance in addressing economic challenges. As anticipation builds around the forthcoming announcement, the government continues to focus on stabilizing market conditions, which are crucial for the successful implementation of the new pay structure for government employees.
