Dhaka: Reiterating his optimism about addressing issues through top-level meetings, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi expressed hope that a visit to India by Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman “should take place much sooner.”

According to United News of Bangladesh, Trivedi conveyed his sentiments during a welcome dinner hosted by Masud Jamil Khan, Honorary Consul of Ireland in Bangladesh, and his wife Kate Jaro Khan in Baridhara. He emphasized the shared dreams and close ties between Bangladesh and India, acknowledging that the two countries not only share a border but also aspirations for a prosperous future.

Highlighting the ongoing partnership, the Indian envoy underscored the importance of addressing challenges through dialogue and cooperation. He noted that while both nations face their own challenges, these are characteristic of democracy, and the ultimate goal remains mutual respect and dignity for people globally. Trivedi described the potential meeting between Prime Minister Rahman and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an opportunity to resolve any outstanding issues.
