Colombo: The Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Sampath Thuyacontha, participated in a special ‘Maahefun’ reception hosted by H.E. Masood Imad, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Sri Lanka. The event took place at the High Commission of Maldives in Colombo as a traditional Maldivian feast marking the period before the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the reception saw the attendance of ministers, senior state officials, and members of the diplomatic corps, reflecting the close ties between Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The ‘Maahefun’ feast is a significant cultural occasion, celebrated with the aim of fostering community and goodwill.
