Colombo: The Republic of Korea Navy’s destroyer ‘Kang Gam Chan’ received a ceremonial welcome upon its arrival at the Port of Colombo today. The ship is making an official visit to the country.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) attended the ceremony held in the morning. The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Miyon Lee, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, as well as various dignitaries.

The Deputy Minister, accompanied by the ship’s captain and the Korean ambassador, toured the vessel. During their discussions, the Deputy Minister praised the ship’s visit as a significant milestone in the longstanding partnership between the two nations. He emphasized that it not only underscores the strength of naval cooperation but also aligns with the shared vision of both countries for maritime security and regional stability.

The event was also attended by the Tri Forces Commanders, members of the diplomatic corps, and officials from the Korean embassy.
