Colombo: Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, currently on a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka, engaged in a bilateral discussion with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees. The meeting took place this morning, marking an important event in the diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries.
According to News.LK, upon his arrival at Temple Trees, Vice President Radhakrishnan was warmly received by Prime Minister Amarasuriya. During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended her congratulations to the Vice President on his recent appointment. Vice President Radhakrishnan expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome extended to him, noting that this visit to Sri Lanka is his first official trip in his new capacity.
The meeting was attended by notable officials from both India and Sri Lanka. Representing India were the Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Members of Parliament Dr. K. Laxman and Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha. Representing the Government of Sri Lanka were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Secretary to the Prime Minister Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nalaka Kaluwewa, along with several other officials.
