Colombo: The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, H.E. Wiebe De Boer, visited the Ministry of Defence to meet with Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd). The meeting, which took place at the Ministry premises, signified the ongoing friendly relations between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the discussions were cordial and focused on mutual interests, particularly the enhancement of bilateral defence cooperation. The Defence Secretary expressed appreciation and emphasized Sri Lanka’s commitment to strengthening ties through continuous dialogue and partnership.

Ambassador De Boer expressed gratitude for the meeting opportunity and affirmed the Netherlands’ intent to deepen cooperation with Sri Lanka in areas that benefit both nations. The discussion was also attended by the Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, Mr. Iwan Rutjens.
