Dhaka: A new platform, bringing together several organisations of healthcare professionals, styled ‘Jatiya Swasthya Peshajibi Oikya’, was launched on Tuesday. The platform was formally announced at a press conference held at the National Press Club.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the platform unites various healthcare professional organisations, including the Bangladesh Nurses Association, Bangladesh Diploma Nurses Association, Bangladesh Midwifery Society, Bangladesh Diploma Medical Association, and Bangladesh Diploma Pharmacists Association.
The ‘Jatiya Swasthya Peshajibi Oikya’ is led by Jamal Uddin Badsha as its convener, with SM Monirul Islam Sadaf serving as the member secretary. The platform aims to address a number of demands, such as upgrading pharmacists, Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officers (SACMO), and medical technologists to 10th grade (2nd class) posts within the health sector. Additionally, it seeks to prevent the move to abolish the Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery.
