No Power Cuts Despite Fuel Challenges – Minister Vijitha Herath

Minister of foreign affairs: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath stated that no power cuts will be imposed in Sri Lanka despite fuel-related challenges caused by the global crisis.

According to News.LK, the Minister made these remarks at the Cabinet media briefing held today at the Government Information Department. He emphasized that no electricity outages have been implemented due to the fuel issue so far, adding that any temporary disruptions in certain areas are due to routine maintenance work.

He further stated that the Ceylon Electricity Board is prepared to supply uninterrupted power for Sinhala and Tamil New Year events across the country. Necessary arrangements have also been made for organizers to obtain electricity by making payments to the CEB, with facilities available from April 15 to 19 for New Year celebrations.
