Sri lanka: Sri Lanka reaffirmed its position as a leading destination for boutique and luxury tourism at the B2B Luxury Connect Sri Lanka 2026, held at Monarch Imperial.

According to News.LK, the event was organized for the seventh consecutive year by Boutiques in Sri Lanka and brought together over 300 boutique hotel properties along with international travel agents, hoteliers, and key industry stakeholders.

Delivering the keynote address, Ruwan Ranasinghe emphasized the growing importance of the boutique and luxury tourism segment. He noted that the sector attracts high-value travelers and plays a crucial role in boosting the country’s economy. He highlighted Sri Lanka’s unique appeal, pointing to its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality, adding that personalized and authentic experiences are key factors that set the island apart in the competitive global tourism market.

The Deputy Minister also outlined the government’s vision to develop a sustainable and globally competitive tourism
industry, stressing that boutique and luxury hospitality will be central to this goal. He commended the event for creating a strong platform to connect local boutique properties with international tour operators.

The event featured a vibrant showcase of Sri Lankan culture, including traditional food, beverages, and entertainment, reflecting both heritage and modern hospitality standards. International participation remained strong, with travel agents attending from countries such as England, Belgium, Dubai, Russia, and the USA, highlighting growing global confidence in Sri Lanka’s luxury tourism offerings.

Deputy Minister Ranasinghe urged industry stakeholders to enhance service quality, promote sustainable tourism practices, strengthen global partnerships, and effectively share Sri Lanka’s authentic story with the world. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to position Sri Lanka as a top global destination for luxury and boutique tourism, reinforcing its reputation as an emerging hub for high-end
travel experiences.
