RDA Rejects Allegations of Rs. 380 Million Double Payment as Baseless

Colombo: The Road Development Authority (RDA) has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media regarding an alleged double payment of over Rs. 380 million to contractors, calling the claims false and misleading. In an official statement, the RDA rejected assertions made by Nalin Bandara, stating that no such double payment had been made and that no financial loss had occurred to the institution.

According to News.LK, the Authority further clarified that it had no involvement in initiating or processing the transactions in question, emphasizing that attempts to link the RDA to financial mismanagement are unfounded and irresponsible. Describing the allegations as malicious and lacking factual basis, the RDA stated that it is currently reviewing the matter and reserves the right to take appropriate action.

The RDA also urged the public and media to verify information before sharing, warning that the spread of unverified claims could harm the reputation of public institutions and mislead the public. Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity, the Authority stressed that it continues to uphold the highest standards in all its operations.
